The other shop I'm enjoying at the moment is surprisingly in nearby Manly, which is great because most of the fabulous interiors shops I love always seem to be in Brisbane. Kristy Lee Interiors has some great pieces if you're looking for that bit of tropical colour and you love bamboo furniture as much as me.

I'm absolutely in love with this Pagoda mirror - but sadly the budget for Poppy's room doesn't extend to this. Still on the hunt for something similar, if anybody has spied a great bamboo style mirror, please let me know.

Love that turquoise coffee table - an absolute burst of sunshine!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous range at Oomph (great name, too!) Shame it's not available here - but what beautiful inspiration!
ReplyDeleteNext time I am in Sydney - I will be sure to check out Kristy Lee Interiors - looks perfect! I notice she has an on-line store too - so will peruse that in the meantime!
Unfortunately can't offer any suggestions for the Bamboo style mirror (other than painting one from one of those mass-market cane stores??...but the style would be the problem) - but if I hear of anything, I will let you know.
Take care x
Such looovely 'stuff Mel! The Pagoda mirror isstunning but even on sale (+ delivery etc...) I agree it is OTT price wise. I haven't seen anything similar in my travels. I wonder if a visit to some asian emporiums in china town might unearth something ...?

Oh I love that chest of drawers in the last shot!
ReplyDeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteJust discovered your blog and I'm loving it!
So here's a question for you - I'm inland of Brisbane and dont know Brisbane well at all, so how about a few tips on your fave shops in Brisbane? Pretty please?
Thanks so much.
Keep up the blog, I'm also in a big renovation - which I am tossing up to move to the sea - so I feel your pain (especially about all the beautiful things online overseas that we just cant get)!
xx Shani
I have a shopping trip planned soon to start investigating
Oooooohhhhh, totally incredible! Thanks for the intro!!

Hi Melinda,
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to see that you're now blogging and that your beautiful style is being shared with all.
I have just had a very quick look through some of your past posts and your children are so beautiful and congratulations with another on the way. I think I met you when my two where similar ages as yours now. My eldest finished school a couple of years ago and Bec only has two more terms (counting the days) left at Frensham, Yaay!! You must be one very busy girl! and...Melinda... Your blog is beautiful!
Please do drop in to my studio next time you're in the Highlands, that's if you have time with the children. I'm sure you heard that Sam had a little baby... such fabulous news and great that he is now a Dad.
Do you still do your wedding styling? I would love to pass on your name to some clients in Sydney. I just can't get to anyone in Sydney anymore, I love being close to home.
There are quite a few clever girls down here that now have blogs, have you seen Bumble at Home (Janie Marshal) Bee Bon Belle, Bee Smith Gilbert, Sarah from Winton House, Alison Lawson Cakes, Burradoo, and now one of Andrew's new woodworking students and fabulous flower guru Margaret Young Whitford is about to start her own.
I just did a post on Janie's new blog a couple of weeks ago when she called to tell me she had one, you would love her home. (I must share your blog as well with my readers). Even though you're in Sydney now, you will always be a Highland's girl!
So glad to have found you, I know it has been a long time since we last talked, I will be back later to have a longer read when I get a free hour or so.
Sending hugs and good wishes for everything,
x Coty Farquhar
